Matt's Gallery and Forma are delighted to present the first book to be published on the work of Benedict Drew, Direct to Your Fucking Head.
Designed by Sara De Bondt, the book features 118 colour images from over a decade of Drew's work, along with two new essays by Jonathan P. Watts and Kristen Gallerneaux that delve into the artist's rich history and connection with sound and music, his approach to film-making and multimedia installations.
The title of the publication is a phrase that crops up in Drew's work from time to time, including in a few frames of the artist's 2018 video work THE ANTI ECSTATIC MACHINES.
Please join us with the artist and Jonathan P. Watts. A turntable and a PA sound system will be provided as the pair discuss the book and Drew's work.
