What you will support
– our public programme: Free-to-attend live events for our neighbours in Southwark and beyond that build a bridge to our commissioning programme or tie into our wider artistic community. For example, your support could ensure we can pay for production costs or cover artist fees.

– our artistic residency programme: We regularly host artists from the UK and abroad who want to come to London and dedicate time to research, production or relationship building. For example, your donation could contribute towards the fees, travel and accommodation for international artists.

– our publishing programme: Forma has a long-standing history of publishing in connection with our commissioning programme. In 2022 we expanded our efforts to Presse Books, a bookshop and cafe at FormaHQ in support of independent publishers and artists, and held the inaugural Presse Books Fair hosting 40+ independent publishers and a programme of workshops, talks and performances. For example, your donation could allow us to pay someone to give workshops for Young People in the neighbourhood.

Ways to support
You can support us by making a one-off, monthly or yearly donation from as little as £1. All amounts will have a genuine impact.

About Forma
Forma is a leading contemporary arts organisation that is driven by artists and their ideas. We develop collaborative interdisciplinary projects that challenge existing practices, span multiple artistic disciplines and demand new levels of ambition. We pride ourselves in being an organisation that artists want to work with, offering commissioning, fundraising and production expertise. As a non-gallery-based organisation we present projects in partnership with cultural institutions across the UK and internationally.

FormaHQ is our home in Southwark with artist studios, a bookshop with cafe, an event space and a meeting point for our artistic community, located at the award-winning building Peveril Garden Studios – named after its famous rooftop garden. The modernist structure was originally built in 1964 as a podium terrace and collection of garages for residents of Peveril House. From 2019-21, Southwark Council and curator Aldo Rinaldi, architects Sanchez Benton and artist Gabriel Kuri transformed the neglected building into a bright tangerine rooftop garden and new cultural hub for South London. Since then, the project has won multiple prizes for its commitment to sustainable architecture, focusing on reuse and demonstrating a duty of care to materials and ecology. Awards include Stephen Lawrence Prize 2022 Special Commendation, RIBA London Award 2022 and RIBA London Project Architect of the Year 2022, Civic Trust Award 2022, AJ Architecture Awards 2021 – Landscape and Public Realm prize.

Forma is supported using public funding by Arts Council England. The majority of our additional funding is raised on a project-by-project basis.

Registered charity no. 1152156.
