Performance artists Lone Twin are renowned internationally for creating projects that are journeys to or through places, on which their encounters with people become the sources of narrative, humour and connection.
In summer 2007, Lone Twin travelled across North East England to ask people about their lives and how they would like to live. The stories, anecdotes and commentaries they collected were then performed as a series of public proclamations by a town crier, in locations ranging from shopping centres and night spots to weekend markets and historic sites.
This book documents these events and includes the script performed at each location, colour photographs of the cries and an interview with the artists.
