Professional Development

Devised and developed in collaboration with Julie Crawshaw, Associates is a pilot scheme that funds and facilitates the research and development of projects proposed by artists and curators living in the North East region.

Launched in 2003, the programme invited applicants to submit proposals for two associate positions at Forma. The project presented an opportunity for these individuals to undertake a self-determined programme of development aimed at enhancing their practice by enabling new ways of working.

Curator Ele Carpenter and artist Peter J. Evans were selected to take up these positions during 2004. Their projects were completed in 2005.
