People Like Us: Genre Collage
Genre Collage was created in 2009. A work in continuing flux, it is a live set by People Like Us reflecting the importance of collage as a genre in its own right as part of a long history in the creative arts.
In 13 years of performing live, this is People Like Us’ first live set using well-known feature films. By changing context and content of recurring icons, elements, characters and film stars held within selected movie genres or sub-genres, for example action, comedy, crime, drama, horror, science fiction, war and westerns, People Like Us creates a humorous and entertaining take on the content held within. The sound is partially used from the films, accompanied by new People Like Us music holding corresponding messages, mood and lyrical content.
